Question : Exactly who or what is FENSA?

Answer
It was in 2001, that the then Deputy Prime Minister John Prescott came up with the idea of a “Fenestration Self Assessment Scheme” for governing an industry standard, that could be trusted by both consumers and local authorities, for what had previously been a largely unregulated replacement door and window sector.

Question : Yes, but is it of any use?

Answer :
To date some 9,000 businesses are registered has being FENSA compliant and over 25% of households in England and Wales have used a FENSA registered installer. Which means that more than 5.5 million homeowner certificates have been issued to the effect that installations carried out meet FENSA’s industry standard for the fitting and replacement of doors and windows.

Question :
Then is FENSA a government run authority?

Answer : The responsibility for overseeing the continuing integrity of the scheme rests with the industry trade association, The Glass and Glazing Federation [CGF] who are in turn answerable to the government as to FENSA's satisfactory running.

Answer : We at Minshull Windows Ltd work closely in partnership with our suppliers, one  the UK's leading supplier of replacement PVCu windows and doors, to make sure that all of are customers only have the highest quality products used on there home. Founded in the  1960's, our supplier is a UK based company with currently more than 2,000 employees at some 25 locations around the UK. With a turn over of 40 million pounds per year. All our windows doors and conservatiore's are made at a state of the art factory. And are then dispacted to Minshull Windows Ltd.


Question : Is there any PVCu work that Minshull Windows Ltd won’t do?

Answer : We at Minshull Windows Ltd eat, sleep and drink windows; door, conservatories and rooflines however, there are some occasions when the needs of a customer may require additional skills, but with our many years experinence in the home improvements industry  we can cherry pick the right person to do a specialised job if needed to do so from our contacts.

Question : Roughly, how long does a typical Minshull Windows Ltd installation take?

Answer : A single replacement door or window could be completed in as little as 3 to 4 hours, while a top to bottom all-house service could well take the full week. As a general rule, a conservatory is a start to finish six weeks job from the ground up.

Question : Lets say from Monday to Friday I work 9 to 5; do Minshull Windows Ltd carry out installations over the weekend?

Answer : Yes we do. Minshull Windows Ltd strives to be always aware of our customers’ needs and requirements in such areas. With the result that at all times we attempt to do the job where and when our customers want.

Question : What about the mess you are likely to make?

Answer: When working inside a property, Minshull Windows Ltd is well practiced in the use of dustsheets for protective purposes. And, of course it goes without saying that all debris and resulting rubbish is cleaned up, collected and removed from a customer’s property at the end of each day.

Question : If I give Minshull Windows Ltd the go-ahead, when can they start work?

Answer : Subject to our already agreed job commitments, it takes a minimum of  two weeks for our supplier to manufacture, assemble and dispatch a customer’s required specified product.

We work very closely with our health and saftey advisors at Intergated Health and Safety Ltd, to ensure that all our staff follow the very latest and most up to date goverment legislation on these matters.
